Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of software development experience; OR at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in software development without a degree
- Over 5 years of proficiency in writing production-level code in C++
- Familiarity with modern continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools
- Experience working within a Linux environment
- Knowledge of libraries such as QT, VTK, Boost, and CUDA, along with tools like CMake (preferred)
- Professional experience with mechatronics, microcontrollers, or FPGA computing hardware (preferred)
- Background in real-time embedded software development (preferred)
- Experience with computer geometry (preferred)
- Familiarity with laser powder bed fusion or similar additive manufacturing techniques (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating accountability and assuming high levels of responsibility for software outcomes (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for an advanced, production-scale metal 3D printing system, including the necessary infrastructure for verification
- Collaborate closely with automation and controls engineers to integrate software with motion control systems
- Partner with additive manufacturing, production, and engine design engineers to create and optimize additive software across essential domains that enhance printed hardware outcomes
- Create production-ready control software and algorithms for the laser and control systems utilized in the printers
- Adhere to and promote high software standards and best practices, including conducting design, code, and test reviews
