Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related scientific field with 5 years of software development experience; OR 7+ years of relevant professional experience in site reliability or DevOps without a degree - Proficiency with Linux operating systems - 5+ years of substantial experience in site reliability or DevOps - Familiarity with Kubernetes and Istio for on-premise deployment - Experience in in-stream data processing and analytics utilizing open-source platforms such as Apache Kafka, Spark, HBase, HDFS, Flink - Ability to troubleshoot hardware and network-layer issues - Programming skills in Python, C#, Java, Scala, Go, or similar languages - Strong understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring - Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary

Responsibilities

- Upgrade existing distributed systems to be sharded and geo-redundant across multiple data centers - Enhance current deployment, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure for multi-region capability - Manage large-scale bare metal compute clusters - Collaborate closely with engineers across various programs to build highly operable, scalable, and maintainable products - Participate throughout the entire software development lifecycle from inception to design, deployment, operation, and iterative improvement - Concentrate on identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and implementing improvement techniques
