Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field with 5 years of software development experience; OR 7+ years of professional experience in software development with site reliability or DevOps instead of a degree
- Proficient with Linux operating systems
- 5+ years of substantial experience in site reliability or DevOps (preferred)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Istio for on-premise deployments (preferred)
- Experience with real-time data processing and analytics using open-source platforms such as Apache Kafka, Spark, HBase, HDFS, and Flink (preferred)
- Capability to troubleshoot hardware and network issues (preferred)
- Programming skills in Python, C#, Java, Scala, Go, or similar languages (preferred)
- Solid understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring (preferred)
- Willingness to work extra hours and weekends as necessary
- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance, subject to pre-employment drug tests and random testing for drugs and alcohol
Responsibilities
- Enhance existing distributed systems to achieve sharding and geo-redundancy across multiple data centers
- Improve current deployment, monitoring, and alerting systems for a multi-region infrastructure
- Oversee petabyte-scale bare metal compute clusters
- Collaborate closely with engineers across various programs to build highly operable, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- Engage throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to design, deployment, operation, and continuous enhancement
- Address performance bottlenecks and implement performance optimization strategies
