Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a STEM discipline, or 7+ years of relevant systems engineering experience without a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in deploying and maintaining Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments.
- Strong experience with the Linux command line and configuring Linux systems.
- Background in supporting and scaling containerized applications on Linux platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform for managing infrastructure and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Capacity to work independently and demonstrate initiative in projects.
Responsibilities
- Install, manage, scale, and enhance Kubernetes and RKE clusters using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Collaborate with other engineers to gather requirements and design solutions for software platforms operating in Kubernetes.
- Take ownership of processes, systems, and tools created to support interplanetary goals.
- Propose, justify, and implement system improvements with a structured change control process.
- Work within a diverse team to develop innovative solutions and address challenges proactively.
- Define and maintain documentation on system design, testing, and implementation best practices.
- Promote a culture of teamwork and skill-sharing, mentoring peers in Kubernetes.
- Focus on automating tasks to decrease administrative burden and repetitive work.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent after-hours support as needed.
