Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related scientific field with at least 5 years in network automation, DevOps, network engineering, or site reliability engineering experience OR 8+ years specifically in network automation.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Strong automation capabilities using Python, Go, shell, bash, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IPv4/IPv6 along with various traffic types like gaming, voice, video, and streaming.
- Experience with version control systems like Git or Subversion.
- Comfortable working with high-stakes systems and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid understanding of essential networking principles.
- Experience managing a substantial number of network assets within an automated framework.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Puppet or Ansible.
- Capacity to oversee projects independently.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse audiences, including customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop network automation tools to facilitate switch configurations, config backups, software updates, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Write Python scripts to streamline manual network tasks.
- Assess, sustain, and enhance the uptime and performance of the corporate network.
- Serve as the technical product owner for infrastructure tools and software utilized by the network engineering team.
- Foster innovation to increase scalability through automation and operational enhancements.
- Collaborate extensively with network engineers to design a highly functional and maintainable infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers to improve their skills and capabilities.
