Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Over 5 years of professional experience in fluids systems design
- Advanced degree in engineering or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in fluids systems design, especially involving gases or hazardous chemicals in manufacturing or semiconductor sectors (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in photovoltaic, semiconductor, or thin-film deposition manufacturing (preferred)
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling pyrophoric materials and toxic gases/chemicals (preferred)
- Familiarity with ASME B31.3, SEMI S2/S8 standards, and cleanroom HVAC integration (preferred)
- Experience with cleanroom fluid systems, gas cabinets, scrubbers, and wastewater neutralization (preferred)
- Proficiency in fluid dynamics software and CAD tools for modeling systems (preferred)
- Certification in process safety or hazardous materials handling (preferred)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel frequently for work and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
- Creativity to design for reliability, efficiency, and maintainability
Responsibilities
- Design and construct fluid systems for distributing essential gases and chemicals, including tanks, pumps, and exhaust systems
- Manage projects from inception to completion, including requirements definition, design, equipment procurement, and project management
- Develop modular systems for scalable manufacturing in future solar production facilities
- Utilize engineering skills for fluid and thermal analysis, system design, and materials selection
- Conduct safety assessments to ensure appropriate hazardous system designs complying with safety standards
- Create and implement data acquisition and control systems for fluid facility management
- Partner with process engineers to integrate fluid systems with manufacturing machinery and optimize performance
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fluid systems, collaborating with various teams to resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for safe chemical and gas handling
- Monitor performance metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for sustainability and efficiency
