Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering; OR 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency in C, C++, Golang, Python, or Rust
- Background in embedded or low-level systems development
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly reliable, fault-tolerant consumer devices and gateways that operate for extended periods with minimal maintenance for millions of users
- Participate in architecture, design, and code evaluations
- Develop prototypes to validate key design concepts and assess technical constraints
- Collaborate with the Starlink factory for in-house device production
- Write quality Linux-based software for various processors and microcontrollers (e.g. ARM, RISC V, etc.)
- Create systems that enable test execution across multiple environments, including virtualized hardware or real hardware-in-the-loop simulations
- Innovate new tools to enhance frequent and reliable software deployments, test execution, and data analysis as a part of continuous integration and release processes
