Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related STEM field; OR 2+ years of relevant professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Golang)
- Experience in designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
- Familiarity with security enhancements for complex systems
- Experience with specific security hardware, such as trusted platform modules (TPMs) and hardware security modules (HSMs)
- Understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP-based protocols
- Proven ability to navigate large, intricate, interactive systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Capacity to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt swiftly to new technologies
- Advanced degree in a technical or engineering field is a plus
- Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and develop security infrastructure for Starshield, including cryptographic and other security-critical services
- Create security features for various Starshield systems, including routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites
- Integrate security measures into factory processes and provide related network services
- Maintain and enhance existing production systems security posture through direct actions and recommendations to teams
- Build prototypes and assist in identifying, designing, and testing security improvements
