Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in incident response, security operations, or a security engineering role; or a bachelors degree in a related field such as security engineering, computer science, cyber security, engineering, mathematics, or a STEM discipline.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, C++, Rust).
- Experience executing Incident Response tasks or participating in a role within a CSIRT team is preferred.
- Experience in creating Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines to enhance logging formats for threat detection.
- Familiarity with managing services in a Kubernetes (k8s) environment, ensuring high availability and reliability through monitoring and automation.
- Understanding of traditional Security Operations environments and response protocols, including SIEM systems.
- Knowledge of prevalent Red Team tactics and adversarial attack methods, along with the necessary evidence sources for investigation.
- Awareness of enterprise security controls and best practices across Windows, Linux, and/or macOS platforms.
- Availability for extended hours and weekends as necessary.
- This role requires onsite work; remote or hybrid options are not available.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and refine current security detection methods and automation frameworks that influence the Security Operations Centers capabilities.
- Collaborate with key personnel managing high-risk systems and services to recognize and prioritize detection inadequacies.
- Examine irregular or suspicious activities within the environment identified during the detection engineering process.
- Engage in adversary emulation exercises to uncover detection weaknesses in the operational environment.
