Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related scientific field plus 1 year of professional software development experience; or 3+ years of professional software development experience in place of a degree (internship experience is counted).
- Proficiency in Python or C++, and Linux programming.
- Familiarity with distributed systems or large-scale consumer internet platforms.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of version control, testing, continuous integration, build processes, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB.
- Prior experience with satellite or spacecraft systems is beneficial.
- Availability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Create highly dependable and available software systems for managing thousands of satellites in low-Earth orbit.
- Oversee and ensure accountability for all software crafted and designed, including their interactions with surrounding hardware and environments.
- Engage in architecture, design, and code reviews with peers.
- Develop software for both the space vehicles and the ground systems that support them.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to strategize and organize product development efforts.
