Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
- Minimum of 1 year experience in RF engineering
- Familiarity with modeling/analysis tools/software such as HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, C/C++, and/or Python
- Proficient with RF test equipment including VNA, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Masters degree in electrical engineering with a focus on microwave/RF engineering (preferred)
- Professional experience in a relevant field (1+ years preferred)
- Knowledge of modeling RF and channel impairments such as multipath, phase noise, group delay, fading, and nonlinear distortion
- Experience in designing RF systems related to radio astronomy, SIGINT, ELINT, radar, or wireless communications
- Understanding of basic principles of antenna theory
- Familiarity with software-defined radios and frameworks such as GNU Radio
- Comprehension of link budgets and analysis pertinent to communications and remote sensing systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead program-level decisions on RF system designs
- Investigate innovative solutions for large-scale satellite RF systems
- Collaborate closely with hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software engineers for RF systems design and validation
- Oversee development and lifecycle support of RF hardware, including PCBA board testing and anomaly resolution in orbit
- Develop electromagnetic simulation models for antennas, filters, and PCB layouts to assess performance
- Adjust electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for flight reliability and manufacturability
