Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related STEM field; OR 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or Golang
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or business infrastructure
- Familiarity with contributing security enhancements to complex systems
- Knowledge of specialized security hardware like Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
- Solid understanding of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and UDP-based protocols
- Experience navigating large, intricate, interactive systems
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity and quickly grasp new technologies
- Advanced degree in a technical or engineering field is a plus
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends if required
Responsibilities
- Design and develop security infrastructure for Starlink, encompassing cryptographic services and other critical security features
- Create security functionalities for Starlink systems, including routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites
- Integrate security measures into production processes and offer network services to support these efforts
- Sustain existing production systems while enhancing their security profiles through direct implementations and strategic recommendations to other teams
- Construct prototypes and assist in identifying, designing, and testing security enhancements
- Advance our mission of delivering secure and dependable Internet access to underserved communities
