Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related STEM field plus 8+ years of professional experience in security software development; OR 10+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree - Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Golang) - Experience in designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale enterprise infrastructure - Prior experience contributing security enhancements to complex systems - Familiarity with special-purpose security hardware like trusted platform modules (TPMs) and hardware security modules (HSMs) - Fundamental understanding of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and UDP-based protocols - Strong skills in navigating intricate interactive systems - Excellent communication abilities, both spoken and written - Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting - Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and rapidly learn new technologies - Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred - Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is advantageous

- Design and develop security infrastructure for Starshield, encompassing cryptographic services and other security-sensitive services - Create security features for various Starshield systems, including routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites - Incorporate security measures into manufacturing processes and provide network services in support of security initiatives - Manage existing production systems and enhance security protocols through direct implementation and recommendations to other teams - Construct prototypes and assist in identifying, designing, and testing security improvements
