Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a technical or engineering field; or 4+ years of hands-on networking experience implementing enterprise network solutions and/or cloud and web-scale networks in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in networking, focusing on enterprise solutions and/or cloud and web-scale infrastructures (internships or co-op experiences are valid)
- Familiarity with Layer-1 technologies (e.g., transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting)
- Practical experience with networking hardware deployment (routers, modems, switches, firewalls)
Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs)
- Manage network infrastructure and implementations to Top Secret data centers
- Optimize network performance and reliability based on system performance metrics, including capacity planning and failure detection
- Support capacity enhancement and network optimization projects
- Spearhead network integration and troubleshooting initiatives
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to refine the Starshield network architecture
- Assist in updating system configurations and firmware
- Develop automation for network devices and operational deployment tools
