Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering or STEM field; OR over 2 years of professional networking experience in place of a degree
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in implementing enterprise network solutions or large-scale cloud networks
- Proven experience with the setup of networking hardware (Routers, Modems, Switches, Firewalls, etc.)
- Strong understanding of core networking principles from layer 1 to layer 3 and protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, NAT, NTP, IPsec VPN, etc.
- Familiarity with routing technologies (e.g., MPLS, SD-WAN, SATCOM) and WAN architectures
- Knowledge of backhaul, cloud, and ISP networking technologies like dedicated interconnects, peering, BGP, etc.
- Capability to troubleshoot networks, including analyzing customer network captures and hardware telemetry to identify integration issues
- Proven ability to recognize technical enhancements and coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives
- Experience with software engineering or direct collaboration with software development teams
- Background in a fast-paced technology startup or program that grew quickly
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to meet critical deadlines
- Openness to travel to other SpaceX locations, vendors, partners, and clients as needed
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Community Gateway hardware and clients to enhance performance and reliability while addressing technical challenges
- Provide pre-sales assistance to the sales team, serving as the technical expert and engineering representative for Community Gateways in client interactions and proposal evaluations
- Create processes and documentation to facilitate customer integration with the Starlink network and systems
- Work alongside hardware, software, network, and business operations teams to outline and execute product requirements that cater to Community Gateway customer expectations
- Directly assist with the activation of new installations from the initial connection to full customer integration and scaling
- Travel to customer locations to support the installation, diagnosis, and integration of Community Gateway systems
