Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
- Over 1 year of experience in:
- Involvement with extracurricular projects designing and constructing mechanical structures
- Academic research related to mechanical structures
- Professional experience in designing and analyzing mechanical structures
- Understanding and application of GD&T
- Familiarity with Unigraphics (NX)
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
- Knowledge in large steel and/or aluminum weldment design and analysis
- Experience in high pressure fluid system design (up to 30,000 psi)
- Hands-on design and fabrication experience
- Basic programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS preferred
- Experience in data acquisition and controls
- Proven track record of driving projects to successful completion
Responsibilities
- Develop test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
- Design and evaluate structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms
- Oversee the integration of test stands, including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems
- Operate test stands meticulously, ensuring strict adherence to detail due to minimal margin for error
