Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering field
- Minimum of 1 year experience in analyzing, designing, building, or testing mechanical systems (internships or competition teams qualify)
- Passion for creating practical hardware solutions
- Proven track record of rapid professional growth with increasing responsibilities
- Proficient with advanced CAD software (e.g., NX, CATIA, Solidworks)
- Experience in designing and validating large metal structures or mechanisms
- Strong prioritization and execution skills in fast-paced settings
- Familiarity with design considerations for manufacturability, testing, welding, corrosion resistance, and inspection techniques
- Team-oriented mindset, able to collaborate effectively with engineers and technicians
- Flexibility to respond to emergency situations for urgent projects
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Capability to work in various outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)
- Comfort working in environments with fumes and noise
- Physically fit to perform tasks requiring dexterity and movement in tight spaces
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Comfortable with heights up to 300 feet, using proper safety gear.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for our vehicles
- Collaborate with design owners from avionics, power systems, and structures to create integrated systems that excel in packaging, manufacturing, and operation
- Conduct thorough design reviews with various stakeholders and clients
- Supervise on-site integration teams, incorporating feedback into designs
- Operate and troubleshoot vehicle mechanisms during ground tests and flight operations
