Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering field - Over 1 year of industry experience (including internships/co-ops are acceptable) - Involvement in extracurricular projects related to mechanical structures or high-pressure systems - Professional expertise in the design and analysis of mechanical structures - Familiarity with hydraulic, thermal, structural, electromechanical, high-pressure, and vacuum systems - Knowledge of basic test instrumentation and control components, such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, and load cells - Experience with Unigraphics (NX) - Background in performing finite element analysis (FEA) - Understanding of steel and/or aluminum weldment design and analysis - Proficiency in designing and analyzing high-pressure fluid systems (up to 30,000 psi) - Experience with lithium-ion batteries - Strong grasp of structural and mechanical first principles analysis - Proven full-cycle ownership of hardware projects, from concept through implementation - Hands-on skills in testing, data acquisition, and issue resolution - Practical experience in design and fabrication - Basic programming knowledge (preferably in Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS)

Responsibilities

- Develop concepts for test stands, including fabrication drawings and wiring schematics - Design and evaluate structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms - Oversee the integration of test stands, which includes mechanical assembly and data/control systems - Operate test stands with meticulous attention to detail, as tests allow minimal margin for error - Collaborate with the flight engineering team to establish test requirements, create solutions that meet or exceed these requirements, and manage the campaign to completion
