Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related STEM field.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
- Masters degree or PhD in physics or an engineering field is preferred.
- Strong background in linear closed-loop control analysis and design, particularly using state space and frequency domain methods.
- Experience in flexible body dynamics and reduced finite element models in closed-loop control systems.
- Knowledge of state estimation techniques, Kalman filters, or recursive least squares.
- Familiar with control systems and estimation practices.
- Proficient in embedded C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and related development tools.
- Experience in spacecraft operations and the development, testing, and deployment of flight software.
- Ability to tackle complex problems independently.
- Enthusiastic about the advancement of the commercial space industry.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, oversee, and maintain control systems for electrical power management on our Starlink satellites.
- Enhance understanding of the health and performance of Starlinks electrical power systems by creating estimation frameworks either on the ground or on the vehicle, summarizing fleet-wide data communicated to control centers.
- Analyze satellite data to detect unusual system or algorithm behaviors.
- Develop strategies to protect the vehicle from hazardous operations and safeguard algorithms from error.
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team including software developers, reliability experts, and satellite operations personnel.
