Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or another STEM field
- Proficient in software development using Python or C++
- Advanced degree in aerospace engineering or a related discipline with a focus on orbit determination or space situational awareness (preferred)
- Knowledge of sequential estimation techniques, including Kalman filtering and covariance analysis
- Background in orbital modeling and propagation, particularly in low-Earth orbit
- Experience with optical observations and related sensor technologies
- Familiarity with orbit determination methods and data analysis techniques
- Understanding of space traffic management and conjunction data messages (CDMs)
- Strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication capabilities for teamwork across various disciplines
- Passion for space safety and advancing the commercial space industry
Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and operate orbit determination tools and systems for collision avoidance and ensuring space safety
- Develop and optimize algorithms for image processing and object detection to enhance performance
- Collaborate with mission operations teams and support real-time decision-making within surveillance systems
- Improve system performance by refining orbit determination and prediction algorithms to achieve higher accuracy
