Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a STEM discipline
- Over 8 years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of wastewater treatment systems for industrial settings
- More than 2 years of experience in leading engineering teams
- Advanced degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, materials engineering, or material science (preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience managing large cross-functional teams and external contractors on greenfield projects (preferred)
- Proven success in high-growth and high-volume manufacturing environments such as solar, semiconductors, or batteries (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of advanced treatment technologies and affiliated chemicals in semiconductor/photovoltaic manufacturing
- Practical experience with zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) systems
- Proficiency in process simulation software, P&ID development, and equipment sizing
- Familiarity with PLC programming and DCS systems for process automation (preferred)
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $50M in fast-paced timelines
- In-depth understanding of US environmental regulations and permitting processes
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of ultrapure water (UPW) and wastewater treatment facilities, from initial design to commissioning, startup, and ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
- Support wastewater treatment operations for vertically integrated multi-GW thin-film solar PV and PCB manufacturing lines
- Achieve complete compliance with ultrapure water reuse goals and minimize hazardous waste
- Create and manage design specifications for advanced treatment processes, including chemical precipitation and membrane filtration
- Lead cross-functional teams for zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) systems, including advanced reverse osmosis and evaporation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external contractors to deliver facilities on time and within budget
- Develop a high-output, multidisciplinary organization to set standards and manage rapid build-out of UPW and wastewater plants
- Oversee operational teams post-commissioning, implementing predictive maintenance and SCADA/PLC automation
- Cultivate a safety-first culture and conduct HAZOP studies and risk assessments in a high-volume industrial setting
- Engage with regulatory agencies, manage permitting, and prepare technical reports for environmental audits
