Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
- Over 5 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, manufacturing, or automation
- At least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity
- Advanced degree (masters or PhD) in a relevant engineering field (mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering) preferred
- Experience within the semiconductor or integrated circuitry sectors, including FPGA and ASIC, or leading new product integration
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and support systems for both front-end wafer and back-end packaging
- Qualification, validation, and troubleshooting expertise in cleanroom or controlled environments
- proficiency in automation programming (structured text, ladder logic, C++) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW)
- Proven ability to manage budgets over $10M and guide multidisciplinary teams in agile cycles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Previous ownership of engineering processes in various production mixes and upholding quality management systems (ISO9001, AS9100)
- A passion for space exploration and alignment with our mission to advance human life across planets
Responsibilities
- Lead a growing team of 10-20 diverse manufacturing engineers and specialists across areas such as automation, thin films, and RF testing
- Collaborate with production, development, and supply chain teams to assess equipment needs and create solutions to enhance yield, reduce cycle times, increase efficiency, and minimize manufacturing line downtime
- Utilize data-driven strategies employing Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) while establishing Out of Control Action Plan (OCAP) procedures by module
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of assembly and test yields, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for product non-conformance
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO, SEMI, JEDEC) and SpaceX safety protocols while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Mentor and cultivate team members, carry out performance evaluations, and recruit top talent to create a high-caliber manufacturing engineering team
