Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, or another relevant engineering discipline - Over 1 year of experience in hardware-focused test engineering (including internships and project work) - More than 3 years of experience in electromagnetic environmental effects (E3), including EMI/EMC and RF testing principles - Familiarity with CISPR/FCC radio standards and requirements - Experience in an EMC laboratory, including accreditation, maintenance, and calibration tasks - Proficient in conducting EMC testing - Knowledge of EMC test automation tools such as TILE! or equivalent - Experience overseeing EMC test personnel - Understanding of global EMC and radio compliance standards for market access - In-depth knowledge of electrical safety and commercial compliance requirements for consumer electronics - Proven skills in troubleshooting EMI/EMC issues from circuit to system levels - Capability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, and engineering documentation - Experience with electrical circuit analysis utilizing simulation tools like Spice or equivalent - Adaptability to fast-paced environments involving production and flight hardware - Familiarity with phased array antenna principles - Strong attention to detail with high efficiency and accuracy in tasks - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted - Willingness to work extended hours and weekends for critical projects - Availability for short travel when required

Responsibilities

- Conduct pre-compliance and third-party certification tests while developing in-house self-certification capabilities for various electronics applications based on IEC/EN/CISPR/FCC and DO160G standards - Confirm that electronic designs meet established EMI/EMC and radio specifications - Design, build, and manage an EMC test facility, including a 10-meter EMC chamber for compliance testing - Achieve and uphold lab accreditation for self-certification objectives (e.g., A2LA or NVLAP) - Develop and manage calibration procedures for lab equipment used in compliance testing - Collaborate with various design teams across the company to set requirements for different Starlink product applications - Provide instruction on electromagnetic compatibility design and analysis - Analyze and design circuit and power system grounding, structural electrical bonding, circuit isolation, and related effects - Create test plans and document results in line with established standards - Troubleshoot EMI issues at board and system levels - Operate and automate various EMI, RF, and electronics testing equipment - Independently verify and clearly document testing results - Support engineering initiatives through creative suggestions while maintaining high-quality standards and thorough documentation
