Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related STEM field - Over 1 year of experience in electromagnetic environmental effects work, including EMI/EMC requirements, analysis, design, and testing (professional or internship experience) - At least 1 year of hands-on experience with radio test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers (professional or internship experience) - Minimum of 1 year of programming proficiency in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB (professional or internship experience) - Advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline preferred - A minimum of 3 years of E3 work experience, encompassing EMI/EMC requirements, analysis, design, and testing preferred - Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, FAA DO-160, FCC Radio and EMC standards is advantageous - Proven track record of addressing EMI/EMC incidents from board to system level - Prior involvement in reading and interpreting circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and other engineering documentation preferred - In-depth knowledge of E3 principles, RF engineering, and electrical circuit analysis - Ability to troubleshoot effectively in a high-paced environment with production or flight hardware - Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Responsibilities

- Conduct analysis and design related to lightning effects, circuit and power system grounding architectures, and other electromagnetic considerations - Establish requirements based on physics instead of relying solely on industry benchmarks - a profound understanding of electromagnetic environmental effects is essential - Collaborate with and mentor engineers in electrical, mechanical, software, and design domains to test and validate systems - Diagnose and address EMI and RF challenges from board to system level; analyze and resolve EMI performance in the field during and after aircraft integration - Assist in certification efforts by executing EMI and EMC tests, carefully documenting results, and communicating with relevant authorities - Operate a range of EMI, RF, and electronic testing equipment, ensuring thorough documentation of verification results - Offer creative and confident engineering support while adhering to the established quality standards and necessary documentation
