Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering field
- Masters degree in an engineering discipline (preferred)
- Over 1 year of experience in mechanical structures design, academic research, or professional analysis
- Proficiency in GD&T principles
- Experience with NX software
- Competence in finite element analysis (FEA)
- Knowledge of large steel and aluminum weldment design
- Familiarity with high-pressure fluid systems (up to 30,000 psi)
- Hands-on experience in design and fabrication
- Basic programming skills (preferably in Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS)
- Expertise in data acquisition and controls
- Proven track record of project completion
- Experience with vibration test equipment
- Experience with temperature and vacuum test systems
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Availability for extended hours and weekends as required
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and drawings for test stands and equipment
- Design and assess structures, fluid systems, and mechanical systems
- Collaborate with design engineering to select and manage test lab equipment
- Train technicians and engineers on test methodologies and how to use equipment
- Oversee the assembly and integration of test stands, including mechanical assembly and data/control system setup
- Operate test stands with a meticulous attention to detail
- Team up with dynamics and thermal engineers to validate that test equipment meets specifications
