Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field - 1+ years of practical experience in mechanical or electrical design, testing, or production (internship or extracurricular experiences accepted) - 2+ years of experience with FAA certification (preferred) - Familiarity with DO-160 environmental testing, aircraft ground testing, and aircraft flight testing - Prior experience overseeing an aerospace certification from application to FAA approval - Proven capability to produce documentation deliverables under tight timelines - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word for managing extensive documents - Experience creating schematics, diagrams, and data visualizations that effectively convey design intents - Knowledge of hardware ownership throughout the lifecycle (design, testing, production, and launch) - Understanding of failure modes in complex mechanical and electrical systems - Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities - Availability to work extended hours and weekends as required

- Generate certification deliverables within stringent timelines to adhere to FAA regulations for supplemental type certification applications (including specific certification plans, test plans, analysis and substantiation reports, conformity inspection plans, operational documents, and flight manual supplements) - Lead efforts to enhance the certification processes to minimize overhead and accelerate timelines for coming certification applications - Oversee multiple simultaneous certification initiatives and regularly update senior management on schedules and deliverables - Serve as the subject matter expert on the FAA certification process, collaborating with internal teams to develop and refine SpaceXs internal tools and procedures - Collaborate with hardware team members to maintain regulatory compliance early in the design cycle
