Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another scientific discipline; or at least 2 years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 1 year of experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, Scala, Go, or similar
- Familiarity with in-stream big data processing and analytics tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, SQL, or comparable technologies
- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases, as well as data lakes like HBase, Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar
- Knowledge of data exploration tools such as Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, PowerBI, or akin applications
- Understanding of version control, software testing, continuous integration, build processes, deployment, and monitoring strategies
- Some front-end development experience with frameworks like Angular, React, or similar JavaScript environments
- Solid grasp of statistics, machine learning algorithms, and relevant frameworks
- Must possess an active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance, with readiness for pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
- Open to working extended hours and weekends as required
Responsibilities
- Create robust and scalable data pipelines enabling engineers across SpaceX
- Develop new applications that enhance operational efficiencies at SpaceX
- Collaborate with team members on system architecture, design, and code reviews
- Build prototypes to validate essential design concepts and assess technical limitations
- Assume complete ownership of software engineering and product development processes
- Analyze business challenges, identify effective solutions, and apply first principles thinking
