Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in information systems, information security, computer science, or computer engineering, along with 1+ years of experience in information security, networking, or systems administration (internships and co-ops may be considered).
- Alternatively, 4+ years of experience in information security without a degree.
- Proficiency in secure code development practices.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, GO, C#, or Rust, with the ability to recognize insecure coding methods.
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mac system internals.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Security Engineering and development teams for security evaluations.
- Assist developers in grasping and applying secure design principles.
- Communicate security issues in a straightforward, actionable manner aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with other security teams (such as compliance, infrastructure, detection/response) to ensure consistency in security efforts.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across SpaceX to promote security awareness and shared responsibility.
- Conduct thorough security reviews of applications and services within SpaceX.
- Assess architecture, authentication/authorization flows, data handling, and external entity exposure.
- Document findings with clear recommendations for remediation.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure issues are understood and resolved prior to release.
- Promptly escalate critical risks to leadership while offering balanced mitigation options.
- Engage in peer reviews of security evaluations to uphold quality and consistency.
- Contribute to the enhancement of team processes, documentation, and standards.
- Share lessons learned from evaluations and projects to broaden security knowledge across SpaceX.
