Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10 years of professional experience in software development using C and C++
- Previous management or mentorship experience within a small software team
- Strong knowledge of the Windows operating system and Win32 architecture
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and management teams
- Ability to stand and work in a machine shop setting for extended periods during training and software verification
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and technical direction for the software development team
- Design and document the software architecture for current and future CNC control products
- Develop protocols for inter-process communication and system integration
- Identify and rectify weaknesses in system architecture to enhance stability and scalability
- Write and maintain code for user interfaces, toolpath algorithms, and CNC functionalities
- Implement enhancements and troubleshoot bugs in existing codebases
- Contribute to PLC programming relevant to machine operations
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and introduce innovative ideas to the team
- Oversee the development of our new subscription-based products
- Facilitate integration of third-party software into the ProtoTRAK platform, enabling a cloud-managed subscription model
- Review current automated testing methods and provide suggestions for improvement
- Assist in the development or enhancement of automated regression testing tools as necessary
- Create internal tools to aid in troubleshooting and diagnostics of CNC machines
