Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, Software Management, Engineering Management, or a related field with relevant experience
- Preferred certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, Agile Certified, Leadership, or other Management certifications
- At least 10 years of experience leading software engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, and overseeing career development of direct reports
- Required experience with the complete software lifecycle
- Prior experience in software design, development, and proactive research of new technologies is highly desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Tools, including Project Online
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab and TeamCity is a plus
- Strong presentation and material development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening abilities
- Detail-oriented, proactive, self-managed, organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks
- Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation
- Experience in proposal assistance, including writing and estimating software development solutions
- Proficient technical writing and evaluation of documentation, architectures, frameworks, and designs
- Familiarity with CMMI and other software quality standards is preferred
- Valid and clear drivers license is required
Responsibilities
- Provide management oversight to software developers, including mentoring, coordinating program tasks, and supporting career growth
- Conduct performance reviews and monthly touchpoints to align with company personnel policies and procedures
- Actively recruit, interview, and hire to expand the software development staff
- Assist in departmental and divisional resource planning and management for ongoing and future projects
- Effectively lead departmental and divisional boards and committees
- Develop quality requirements, support thorough software design, analyze alternatives, and manage technical debt
- Generate and manage accurate software schedules to ensure timely delivery of software solutions
- Collaborate with peers to refine and enhance software development standards and practices based on industry trends
- Foster innovative thinking and support internal research and development initiatives
- Engage in business opportunities and propose new work aligned with the organizations strategic objectives
- Contribute to proposals from a software development perspective, including writing technical volumes and providing precise estimations
