Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field with relevant experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelors degree, 6 years of professional IT licensing experience with a high school diploma or equivalent, plus related technical certifications.
- Microsoft certifications relevant to the support of Microsoft technologies (MCSA, MCSE) are preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT software licensing, asset management, or compliance.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply EULAs, enterprise agreements, and subscription-based licensing, and assess software suitability for IT environments.
- At least 2 years of direct experience managing licenses for major software vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, SolidWorks, and VMware.
- Minimum of 2 years understanding of modern licensing models including subscription, infrastructure-based, and bundled offerings.
- Experience collaborating with procurement teams and software vendors.
- At least 1 year of general IT infrastructure administration experience within Microsoft Windows physical, virtual, or cloud-based secure enterprise environments, including workstations, servers, and other devices.
- A valid and clear drivers license is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for software licensing and manage licensing agreements and renewals in an enterprise software lifecycle setting.
- Support licensing for diverse environments including Windows, Linux, macOS, cloud, and virtualized systems.
- Oversee licensing for significant enterprise software platforms such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, SolidWorks, and VMware/Broadcom to achieve administrative and cost efficiencies.
- Interpret and analyze EULAs, enterprise agreements, subscription terms, and licensing addenda to ensure compliance with software licensing terms and usage rights.
- Evaluate software for compatibility with the SwRI computing environment, especially for systems handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Advise IT teams and stakeholders regarding licensing implications of deployments, upgrades, virtualization, and cloud usage.
- Assist with CMMC-aligned documentation and evidence collection concerning software inventory, usage, and entitlements.
- As part of the Software Lifecycle team, review and approve Microsoft and third-party software for use within SwRI.
- Maintain and track software licenses utilizing established systems within SwRI.
- Develop internal guidelines and best practices to encourage compliant software usage across the organization.
- Review quotes, renewal proposals, and licensing metrics for accuracy and alignment with operational and compliance requirements.
- Engage with software vendors and authorized resellers to clarify licensing terms, pricing models, and compliance obligations.
