Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering IT support in an enterprise setting.
- In-depth understanding of IT Service Management principles (incident and request management).
- Familiarity with Windows Operating System, personal computer hardware, applications, and peripherals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktops, servers, printers, terminal servers, Xerox Document Management, telecommunications systems, fax servers, and network devices, along with troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in networking concepts (LAN/WAN/VPN).
- Solid server administration skills (both physical and virtual).
- Associate degree in Information Technology or relevant IT certifications (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate technical assistance for hardware, network, or application-related issues.
- Assess the scope and urgency of reported problems swiftly.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals effectively.
- Understand fundamental principles of network and server/desktop administration, installations, upgrades, techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving network connectivity and printing concerns.
- Collaborate with vendors and maintenance service providers to address user issues.
- Troubleshoot basic to intermediate network problems before escalating to other technical experts.
- Be available on-call as needed.
- Configure and install personal computer hardware and peripherals.
- Facilitate software installation processes.
- Engage proactively with laboratory and administrative personnel to foster trusting relationships.
- Follow safety, confidentiality, and legal protocols rigorously.
- Educate new and existing employees on the systems as required.
- Employ excellent customer service skills to support users of varying technical abilities.
- Keep up-to-date with personal technical knowledge through ongoing education and literature.
- Assemble desktop PCs and set up peripherals as needed.
- Execute hardware repairs, including replacements of hard drives, power supplies, and motherboards, alongside addressing other general issues.
- Conduct operational maintenance on critical systems (e.g., backups, cleaning, etc.).
- Participate in process improvement initiatives as assigned.
