Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in production systems support or application development, particularly within large-scale distributed Unix/Linux environments
- Required experience with automation, utilizing scripting languages such as Python, bash, Perl, or Ruby
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of System/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
- Experience in designing and implementing SLO/SLI dashboards is highly desirable
- Proficient with enterprise monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Grafana, Splunk, or Dynatrace
- Familiarity with configuration and automation tools like Puppet, Ansible, Chef, GitHub, and an understanding of modern software architectures, including database systems and cloud solutions
- Ability to engage with message transport protocols (MQ, CPS, XML, FIX) and distributed database systems (DB2, Sybase, Mongo, GreenPlum, Postgres, KDB)
- Knowledge of Autosys scheduling and batch processing techniques
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and operating system concepts, including process management, memory allocation, and networking, along with debugging skills
- Proficiency in higher-level compiled programming languages such as C++, C#, JAVA, Scala, or Go is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Collaborating closely with engineering and development teams to design, enhance, optimize, and maintain systems
- Diagnosing and resolving issues across the complete technology stack, including hardware, software, applications, and network components
- Actively seeking to reduce operational risks and toil by implementing effective solutions
- Enhancing infrastructure and application observability
- Proactively spotting and managing current or potential risks to system reliability
- Promoting reliability priorities during application design reviews and operational readiness assessments for both new and existing services
