Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree is required; advanced degrees (MBA, PhD, etc.) or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in Software Category Management or Procurement, particularly in enterprise applications, SaaS, licensing, or cloud.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, adaptable to various audiences and seniority levels.
- Capability to make data-driven decisions based on facts and logical reasoning.
- Experience in creating category strategies, supplier management plans, and relevant deliverables (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, Excel models, reports).
- Outstanding time management skills to navigate a complex and largely autonomous work environment.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours for meetings and to manage projects on short notice.
- Openness to travel and work in various settings, even under challenging conditions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Software Category Program within the Technology portfolio, managing targeted spending, supplier networks, and third-party partnerships to enhance our strategic and operational goals.
- Contribute to a global operations team focused on improving our firms performance and resilience through data-driven strategies.
- Develop and implement sub-category strategies (e.g., enterprise applications, SaaS, AI capabilities, cloud solutions, developer platforms) in alignment with the overall Software category objectives, collaborating closely with the Category Director and cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, optimize software asset use, enhance vendor performance, and scale innovative digital solutions.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key software providers and system integrators, ensuring high-performance standards while integrating sustainability and compliance measures.
- Oversee the effective use of Software Asset Management (SAM) tools to drive spend visibility and compliance while promoting financial oversight and ongoing optimization.
- Lead initiatives involving category spending analysis, market and supplier evaluations, hypothesis testing for sourcing models, negotiation strategy development, and presenting actionable insights to senior leaders.
