Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree and paralegal certificate are mandatory
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Exceptional writing and research abilities
- Proficient in legal research databases and cite-checking
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft software applications
Responsibilities
- Manage the docket of assigned cases and maintain official records
- Compile and organize information for various documents, including orders and decisions
- Monitor case deadlines and assist Hearing Officers in managing their dockets
- Serve as a liaison between parties and Hearing Officers to facilitate pre-hearing motions
- Anticipate and resolve potential issues during case proceedings
- Prepare various documents for the Hearing Officers, such as notices and correspondence
- Proofread and verify draft decisions and orders for accuracy
- Ensure compliance of pleadings and contact parties for any discrepancies
- Attend pre-hearing conferences and hearings to assist with evidence management
- Compile required statistical information and reports
- Participate in special projects as directed by Case Administrator Manager or Chief Hearing Officer
