Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Masters preferred)
- Over 7 years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 3 years concentrating on enterprise system integration
- Strong proficiency in GraphQL: schema creation, query refinement, resolver execution, and federation strategies
- Competence in Java and Python
- Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML), and API gateway tools
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud services and container technology
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GraphQL federation and the implementation of federated GraphQL frameworks
- Background in integrating case management, analytics, or enterprise software solutions
- Familiarity with message brokers and event-driven designs
- Knowledge of security best practices for API integrations in regulated settings
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support GraphQL APIs to facilitate efficient data exchange between COTS platforms and our systems
- Architect scalable integration solutions to connect external products with our internal databases, applications, and services
- Construct and maintain middleware, integration layers, and data pipelines to ensure reliable inter-system communication
- Collaborate with COTS vendors to determine technical integration requirements, API specifications, and issue resolution
- Execute data mapping, transformation, and synchronization processes while upholding data integrity and security standards
- Provide mentorship to engineers on integration patterns, GraphQL best practices, and determine technical directions for the investigative technology stack

This hybrid role requires in-person work three days a week, either in Rockville or Tysons, and is intended for candidates local to the DC Metro area.
