Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 15 years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and enterprise platform implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud-native and modernization architectures, including microservices, event-driven systems, and composable architecture (MASA).
- Strong practical experience with backend and platform technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Python, or .NET/C#; familiarity with full-stack technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript) is advantageous.
- Extensive background in developing scalable APIs utilizing REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and asynchronous protocols, with solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and enterprise integration patterns.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing platforms with service mesh (Istio, AWS Lattice), Docker, Kubernetes, and API Gateway platforms (preference for AWS).
- Practical experience with messaging and integration frameworks like Kafka or Apache Camel.
- Strong database skills across SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub/GitLab CI/CD.
- Advanced understanding of API and cloud security measures, including OAuth 2.0/2.1, JWT, mTLS, RBAC/ABAC, Zero Trust, rate limiting, DDoS protection, and OWASP API Top 10.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
- Proven capability to mentor engineers, steer technical direction across teams, and function efficiently in intricate, cross-functional enterprise environments.
- Experience in technology audits, compliance assessments, and risk management strategies.
- Familiarity with emerging protocols (MCP, A2A, ACP) is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Act as a senior technical consultant for enterprise API standards, architecture patterns, orchestration, gateways, mediation, and observability platforms.
- Lead the development of a unified API-first platform design and effective enterprise integration strategies.
- Contribute to and drive the advancement of API Hub Services in accordance with the firms API-centric modernization strategy.
- Establish architecture patterns, strategies, and reusable templates to enhance APIs and platforms for AI-native functionalities, including agent-to-agent communication and intelligent system integration.
- Facilitate the transformation of legacy systems into cloud-native, API-driven, and composable architectures.
- Design and implement secure, cloud-native platforms leveraging microservices, service mesh technologies (Istio, AWS Lattice), and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Play a pivotal role in API Gateway, Agent Gateway, monitoring, and observability platform initiatives.
- Ensure platforms maintain scalability, resilience, and compliance with enterprise reliability and security standards.
- Oversee API lifecycle governance, including versioning, deprecation, migration strategies, and platform observability.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and senior leaders to establish standards, assess technologies, and publish strategic roadmaps that balance immediate execution with long-term vision.
- Work alongside product managers, engineering leaders, and architects to impact critical architectural and platform decisions.
- Mentor engineering teams on best practices related to API design, platform engineering, and AI integration.
- Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
- Lead or assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise platforms and tools supporting API development, security, and scalability.
- Track emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the enterprise technology stack.
- Support audit readiness, risk assessments, and adherence to security and data privacy regulations.
