Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of practical experience in Database Administration
- Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, and/or Oracle
- Proficient in SQL, including queries, stored procedures, views, and performance optimization
- Demonstrated ability in enhancing database performance and troubleshooting issues
- Experience overseeing database security, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance
- Practical experience with backup/recovery methods and high availability solutions
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud-based database ecosystems
- Solid grasp of database design and data modeling concepts
- Background in supporting production environments within large organizations
- Excellent communication abilities and a knack for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Oversee, sustain, and enhance enterprise databases in both production and development settings
- Maintain database availability, performance, security, and integrity
- Monitor and improve database performance by tuning queries, indexing methods, and storage efficiency
- Execute administrative tasks such as installation, setup, patching, and upgrades
- Establish and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery measures
- Conduct regular security evaluations and manage user access protocols
- Develop and uphold database documentation and operational standards
- Work in partnership with application teams, architects, and stakeholders to cater to database requirements
- Create and improve automation for database management tasks
- Assist with the entire lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support
- Propose and implement enhancements to database standards, methodologies, and performance
