Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Cohesity backup solutions.
- Proven track record of integrating backup systems with Splunk for monitoring and alerting.
- Experience in ServiceNow CMDB integration via API calls.
- Strong automation and programming skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in setting up Oracle database backups, including Oracle Exadata environments.
- Experience in configuring offsite backup solutions to cloud and tape storage.
- Knowledge of data center replication and disaster recovery methodologies.
- Familiarity with concepts and implementation of backup immutability for Oracle databases.
- Excellent skills in communication and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design and configure Oracle backup solutions using Cohesity.
- Troubleshoot backup configurations to ensure optimal performance.
- Integrate backup monitoring with Splunk, including the development of custom scripts and dashboards.
- Create API-based integrations with ServiceNow CMDB for automated updates on Oracle asset and backup statuses.
- Automate backup processes utilizing programming and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Set up Oracle database backups in line with industry best practices, especially for Oracle Exadata.
- Establish secure offsite backup solutions to cloud and tape, ensuring reliable data transfer and retention.
- Test and validate replication between data centers for backup redundancy and disaster recovery.
- Implement and verify immutability features for Oracle database backups.
- Produce thorough documentation for all implemented solutions and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress.
Description
We are a forward-thinking organization located in Washington, District of Columbia, seeking an experienced IT consultant to assist with a critical backup migration project. This role is hybrid, with three days required onsite each week. We are looking for candidates who can work independently and possess a strong background in managing advanced backup solutions for Oracle databases utilizing Cohesity technology. This contract position is expected to last for over six months and offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our team, enhancing our data management strategies.
