Requirements
Must:
- 6–10 years of professional experience developing production applications with Ruby on Rails
- Proven expertise in designing and scaling complex, distributed web systems
- Significant experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
- Familiarity with Node.js for supporting services and tools
- In-depth experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and best practices in data modeling
- Strong command of Git and GitHub, including advanced workflows for branching and code review
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud services
- Comprehensive understanding of agile development methodologies; SAFe experience is a plus
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
- Ability to excel in a collaborative and fast-paced environment while managing complex technical projects
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, creation, deployment, and upkeep of scalable, high-availability web applications using Ruby on Rails for both agent-facing and carrier-facing platforms
- Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance platform scalability, performance, reliability, and ongoing maintainability
- Develop and maintain intuitive, high-performance front-end experiences utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) alongside HTML and CSS
- Design, optimize, and oversee relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) employing ORM frameworks and performance best practices
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and deliver effective features
- Mentor and guide fellow engineers through code reviews, technical advice, and knowledge sharing
- Advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, security, observability, and system scalability
- Construct and maintain cloud infrastructure and services using AWS to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness
- Improve deployment speed, safety, and developer experience by contributing to CI/CD pipelines
- Engage actively in agile ceremonies and work collaboratively in a dynamic, iterative setting
