Requirements
Must:
- 6–10+ years of full-stack development experience with a strong focus on backend and infrastructure
- 4+ years of experience in technology or team leadership, including mentoring developers and conducting code reviews
- Proven ability to manage distributed or offshore engineering teams across multiple time zones
- Proficient in SQL, particularly in optimization, stored procedures, and schema design; experience with Azure SQL or SQL Server preferred
- Familiarity with Node.js / Express.js at scale within production environments
- Practical experience using Azure services such as App Service, SQL elastic pools, Data Factory, Key Vault, or APIM
- Demonstrated capability of owning a production system comprehensively, not limited to coding but ensuring its operational excellence and ongoing enhancement
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures, managing numerous tenant databases with specific configurations and deployment automation
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automation for deployments
- Nice to have:
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript (you will review front-end pull requests but not write React code daily)
- Experience in data warehouse migration (e.g., Vertica, Snowflake, etc.)
- Familiarity with Power BI or analytics pipelines
- Background in supply chain, agri-tech, or retail operations, especially with complex, time-sensitive data
- Active engagement with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
Responsibilities
- Ensure platform reliability by managing daily processing pipelines, including EDI integrations, data synchronization, order generation, and report delivery
- Maintain and oversee 130+ Azure Data Factory pipelines that facilitate EDI processing and data integrations for major retail partners
- Take charge of incident response by diagnosing issues rapidly, resolving them efficiently, and implementing processes to avoid future occurrences
- Set up automated monitoring and alerting to reduce manual interventions in daily operations
- Provide daily guidance and mentorship to a distributed engineering team, comprising local developers and an offshore team in India
- Manage asynchronous communications across different time zones, run standup meetings, and ensure the teams productivity
- Conduct code reviews, establish technical standards, and elevate engineering quality within the team
- Promote and enforce best practices related to CI/CD across middleware and application layers
- Document and make key architectural decisions related to our Node.js API, Azure SQL multi-tenant database, and React frontend
- Act as a communication bridge between engineering teams and leadership, proactively identifying risks, obstacles, and issues that impact customers
- Drive the development of new capabilities for the platform, including reporting tools, ERP integrations, forecast pipelines, and features for customers
- Participate in technical screening and interviews to support future engineering hires as the team expands
