We prefer candidates who have two years of experience as a Help Desk Technician. An Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is favored, and relevant industry certifications (such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco) are also desirable. A strong attendance record is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
In this position, I will maintain the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, troubleshooting issues, installing hardware and software solutions, and providing support to the internal IT Helpdesk. You will manage the administration and internal support for the PCs within our organization, while also assisting with servers and related equipment. Your tasks will include:
- Serving as a primary contact for team members, delivering friendly and efficient assistance for IT-related concerns.
- Collaborating with the IT team to promptly resolve or escalate incoming support tickets.
- Overseeing the entire lifecycle of end-user devices, from staging and deployment to maintenance and retirement.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripherals for desktop and laptop computers.
- Managing user account lifecycles, including their creation, modification, and termination in various systems and maintaining user access permissions in identity systems such as Active Directory and O365/Azure/Entra ID.
- Assisting in tracking and managing the inventory of all computers and network equipment.
- Supporting IT projects beyond daily helpdesk duties, including aiding in the deployment of new applications, systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, system diagrams, and clear guides to assist both technical and non-technical users while effectively communicating complex technical information.
Description
The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in major PC software packages such as MS Office and Windows, with a basic understanding of Windows networking and administration being advantageous. Familiarity with a Windows Server environment is also beneficial, as is a tech-savvy attitude with a solid grasp of office automation products, networks, and remote control operations. A capability to diagnose and resolve fundamental technical issues, along with outstanding communication skills and strong analytical abilities, is vital. Demonstrated experience in high-pressure situations and the ability to manage multiple priorities flexibly are required, along with superior customer service skills across all levels of the team. The work environment will involve a combination of sitting and standing, primarily within an office setting and on the plant floor, with moderate physical activity such as walking and lifting required daily. Safety gear, including approved safety glasses, must be worn at all times. This position includes access to sensitive ITAR technical data, meaning applicants must qualify as U.S. Persons, defined as citizens, permanent residents who do not work for foreign entities, or political asylees adhering to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Because of customer requirements, visa sponsorship is not available. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Our benefits package kicks in on the first of the month following 30 days of employment and includes health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and short-term and long-term disability insurance. Additionally, paid time off is available after 60 days of employment, along with participation in a quarterly bonus program.
