Requirements
Must:
- Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is preferred
- Strong digital proficiency and excellent writing abilities
- Experience with The Weather Company (WSI) is preferred
- In-depth understanding of maximizing The Weather Company (WSI) for unique graphic presentations
- Energetic and engaging personality
- Willingness to respond to severe weather events outside of regular shifts
- Team-oriented mindset, valuing collaboration over individual recognition
- Proven experience in reporting severe weather on-air and through digital platforms
- Demonstrated strong engagement on social media
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver weather reports across all platforms
- Issue timely warnings and alerts
- Produce high-quality graphics and maps
- Report live during significant weather events
- Develop and present clear and engaging forecasts that resonate with viewers
- Generate content and graphics for on-air broadcasts, online platforms, and social media
- Represent the station at public events
- Collaborate with producers to identify relevant weather content during breaking news and regular broadcasts
- Cover community events and breaking news stories
