Requirements
Must:
- Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is a must
- Strong digital literacy with excellent writing abilities
- Prior experience preferred with Baron graphics
- In-depth understanding of maximizing Baron for unique graphic presentations
- Energetic and engaging personality
- Availability to come in off duty during severe weather situations
- Team-oriented mindset, valuing collaboration over individual recognition
- Proven expertise in covering severe weather both on-air and online
- Evidence of robust social media interaction
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver engaging weather reports across all platforms
- Issue warnings and alerts to keep the public informed
- Design and produce graphics and maps for broadcasts
- Report live during significant weather events
- Develop, produce, and present clear and concise forecasts that resonate with viewers
- Curate content and graphics for on-air, web, and extensive social media use
- Make public appearances representing the station
- Collaborate with producers to identify relevant weather content for breaking news and regular programming
- Report from community events and on urgent news situations
