Requirements
Must:
- I possess expertise in network topologies, protocols, routing and switching, addressing and subnetting, security, wireless networking, Radio Frequency (RF) principles, and wireless communication.
- I have experience in designing tactical networks and implementing solutions at the switch level.
- I am knowledgeable in Virtual LANs, port forwarding, traffic isolation, and STIG conformance.
- I have hands-on experience with radios, network devices, cabling standards, operating systems, and network management tools.
- I have experience in integrating and testing networked capabilities on tactical assets.
- I am proficient in using network troubleshooting tools and techniques, particularly with radios.
- I have the capability to verify and validate network and communication systems' capabilities and settings.
- I can generate comprehensive reports on communications and network configuration assessments.
- I understand hardware and software designs, interfaces, and architectures, supporting customer platform configuration validations and BMS configurations.
- I am willing and able to travel for integration, test events, and other project-related events or meetings.
- I can balance multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- I am familiar with military communication systems as well as DoD standards and regulations.
- I possess excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- I exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- I will develop the overall network architecture plan for tactical operations, working collaboratively with Hardware Engineering and System Test teams to implement and maintain the architecture.
- I will design secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure to facilitate real-time communications and data transfer.
- I will implement and oversee network configurations, hardware installations, and upgrades.
- I will manage network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
- I will establish robust network security measures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- I will ensure that network architectures comply with military standards and regulations.
- I will collaborate with operational teams to integrate network solutions with various systems, including sensors, communication systems, and external databases.
- I will ensure seamless interoperability among different tactical systems.
- I will maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- I will stay updated with the latest advancements in networking technology, military standards, and best practices.
- I will continuously evaluate and enhance network architecture solutions to boost operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- I will communicate and interface professionally with engineers and program leadership.
- I will participate in the integration and assessment of tactical systems conducted both locally and remotely.
- I will verify network configurations before deploying products to customers.
Description
I am seeking an individual with over 5 years of experience in network architecture or a related role, particularly within tactical or military environments. A Bachelor’s degree or advanced post-secondary diploma in fields such as Network Administration & Security, Computer Networking Technology, Cybersecurity, Network and System Administration, Information Technology, Electronics Technology, Network Engineering, Radio Frequency Technology, Wireless Communications, or Telecommunications is preferred.
