Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development
- Proficiency in Java, along with experience using JavaFX for developing user interfaces
- Familiarity with dependency injection using Guice
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for effective collaboration
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality development
- A BS in a STEM discipline is required
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement applications utilizing Java, JavaFX, and Guice
- Manage code using Git for local development and GitLab for configuration management, including handling merge requests
- Contribute to the DevSecOps pipeline for compiling code, running unit tests, and analyzing code coverage results from SonarQube
- Perform static code analysis with SonarQube to identify vulnerabilities and ensure code quality
- Utilize VMWare Workstation to create and manage virtual development environments
- Oversee artifact management generated from GitLab using Artifactory and facilitate customer deliveries using Nexus
- Implement build automation with Gradle for the compilation, testing, and deployment processes
- Engage in agile project management using JIRA for ticket tracking and Confluence for documentation

This role takes you into the heart of software design, implementation, testing, documentation, and defect analysis, with the opportunity to work hands-on with CI/CD pipeline development. You will be expected to work onsite at Dahlgren Naval Base at least four days a week.
