Requirements
Must:
- Proven track record in developing with WordPress and WooCommerce
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience utilizing WooCommerce hooks, filters, and creating custom plugins
- Familiarity with widely used WooCommerce plugins, including those for payments, shipping, caching, and security
- Experience with data migration involving products, customers, and orders across platforms
- Capability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines
Responsibilities
- Migrate and enhance the current shopping cart to WordPress + WooCommerce
- Set up WooCommerce products, categories, attributes, and variations
- Personalize WooCommerce templates, checkout processes, and cart functions as necessary
- Verify compatibility with existing themes or assist in theme adjustments
- Enhance site performance, security, and responsiveness
- Configure payment gateways, tax settings, shipping regulations, and email notifications
- Ensure accurate management of both digital and physical goods
- Diagnose and resolve plugin conflicts and WooCommerce-related challenges
- Apply best practices for SEO, accessibility, and scalability
- Provide documentation and basic training upon successful project completion
Description
We are a dynamic company looking for an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce web developer to upgrade and enhance our shopping cart system, transforming it into a modern, reliable, and user-friendly WooCommerce-based eCommerce platform. This role is contract-based or part-time, with the possibility of ongoing maintenance and enhancements in the future. We offer competitive pay starting at $150.00 per hour and anticipate no more than 36 hours of work per week in a hybrid remote setting based in Frederick, MD 21703.
