Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a focus on power systems or power electronics/energy systems
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power systems, power electronics, or grid-connected energy systems, demonstrating system-level technical expertise preferred
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and grid-connected machinery, such as power converters, generators, transformers, and regulatory compliance
- Established track record in leading pre-sale and post-sale technical initiatives, including roles involving direct customer interaction
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (IEEE, CSA, UL, NERC, IEC) and experience participating in industry standards committees
- Capability to facilitate complex technical discussions, make informed engineering choices, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without reliance on employer-sponsored work authorization, with potential for internal transfers for those currently sponsored
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical authority for electrical systems in wind turbine and plant-level applications
- Oversee pre-sale electrical engineering tasks including negotiating technical terms with customers, clarifying electrical concepts, and approving contractual documents
- Manage post-sale technical resolutions, addressing complex issues, aligning corrective actions, and supporting repairs and field challenges
- Provide system-level direction on electrical components, including generators, power converters, transformers, cabling, and grid interconnection equipment
- Organize and prioritize engineering tasks, leveraging tracking tools to ensure successful execution
- Analyze operational performance data, conduct root cause investigations, and implement necessary corrective measures
- Review and endorse engineering documentation, while representing Siemens Energy in regulatory discussions regarding electrical codes and standards
- Foster standardization and best practices throughout the Wind Engineering division
- Collaborate with both regional and global engineering teams to offer cost-effective, compliant, and scalable solutions aligned with business strategies
