Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Over 3 years of experience within a SOC, incident response, or healthcare IT cybersecurity role.
- Demonstrated expertise with EDR tools and SIEM solutions, preferably in healthcare settings.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare risk management practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to engage effectively with both technical and clinical stakeholders.
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and manage security incidents outside regular business hours.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH) are preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a degree; or 5+ years without a degree, with experience substituting for educational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all platforms for security incidents.
- Lead incident response efforts from identification to recovery, focusing on the protection of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Analyze logs, forensic data, and network traffic in a complex healthcare IT landscape.
- Assist in developing and fine-tuning SIEM correlation rules for effective threat detection.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding swiftly to incidents and escalations.
- Ensure incident handling complies with HIPAA and relevant regulations; engage in incident debriefs and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with clinical, IT, compliance, and third-party vendors to assess risks and address vulnerabilities across essential systems.
- Document incident response measures in detail, maintaining records for legal and compliance purposes.
- Engage in specific threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and security exercises to bolster organizational resilience.
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes affecting healthcare operations.
