Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as an Application Architect specializing in Web and Mobile applications
- Strong knowledge of backend system architecture, particularly with SmarTrip or similar systems
- Familiarity with the design and deployment of user interface components
- Extensive experience with iOS and Android mobile application development
- Ability to work closely with various teams, including vendors and internal stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement components of the SmarTrip backend system
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure successful integration and functionality
- Utilize provided technical specifications to guide architecture and design decisions
- Assist in the modernization of the WMATA Website by providing backend support
- Engage in ongoing testing and quality assurance for SmarTrip components
- Provide input and support for the necessary documentation related to the project
- Work in conjunction with frontend developers implementing user interface solutions

We are the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), dedicated to improving transit solutions in the D.C. Metro area. We are currently seeking an Application Architect to join our team and contribute to the SmarTrip backend system project, which is integral to modernizing our website.
